Lylo Pendants
LIT Lighting Design Awards - Honorable Mention 2024
Sustainable Acoustic Pendant Lighting
Dishwasher insulation, commonly made from single use non-biodegradable fiberglass or polyester, can take up to 200 years to decompose and usually ends up in landfills.
Lylo is a pendant lamp that repurposes this often-overlooked insulation material, extending its lifespan and showcasing its unique composition. The felt also acts as an acoustic solution, absorbing sound and creating a quieter environment.
The design also incorporates mycelium, a sustainable material grown, molded, and heat-treated for this application. Mycelium captures significant amounts of carbon, purifying the surrounding air and helping to reduce greenhouse gasses.

Nora Rocking Stool
Repurposing Single Use Materials into Functional Seating
Sustainability Through Subtle Design Choices
The Nora Stool shows how sustainability can be subtle. It encourages rethinking the obvious option for something more sustainable.
The stool transforms single-use dishwasher insulation into a functional seating option, extending its lifespan and reducing landfill waste.
Nora offers an attainable step towards sustainability in functional products. The stool provides flexible seating that can be used in multiple ways. Its rocking design accounts for fidgeting, small children, and doubles as a footrest.
The stool creates opportunities to rethink traditional material applications and make everyday products more sustainable through small design choices.
